Travel north along SC 125 and you'll pass through two gates protecting the territory surrounding the Savannah River Nuclear Power Plant. This is a fairly scenic route connecting Interstate 95 and US Highway 17, in southwestern South Carolina, to Augusta, GA, along the Georgia/South Carolina state line. Old towns are actually the highlight of the journey (as per this town, Allendale, which features old storefronts and a well-landscaped little park perfect for picnicking).
